The Ein Khudra Oasis has a three thousand year old history. Long before it became a settlement of the Mozina Bedouins 500 years ago it played an important role for travelers on the Sinai and it even has Biblical reference. Ein Khudra is the place that is described in the Bible as "Hazeroth", the place where Miriam was infected with lepra after criticising Moses.
Today, Ein Khudra is a beautiful Oasis that stayed original and pristine. Some Bedouin families settled down there and provide tourists with tea and food and a warm welcome. For Camel Trips into the Sinai desert, Ein Khudra is from major importance because it is the only location within many kilometers, where Camels can find water in the desert. Against many rumours, camels need to drink every 3-4 days when trekking through the heat of the desert, and can't survive weeks without water.
When you visit the Sinai desert by camel and come close to Ein Khudra, your camel will probably automatically bring you to the oasis, without that you or your guide need to show it the way.
